66 Batman Merchandise Launch Party at Meltdown Comic

...
On Monday of this week, I was driving down Sunset Blvd. when I spotted this in front of Meltdown Comics.

As it turned out, Junk Food is a T-shirt company that was going to have a launch party that Thursday night for the upcoming “Classic TV Batman” merch along with displaying upcoming toys and and other product by other companies in conjunction with WB/DC. It was a private affair but I contacted the proper people and got an invite.

All the toys featured were Mattel so there was nothing to see by Hot Toys or Moebius Models for example. And there was no announcements actually made for other lines or products. And no, there was nothing mentioned about the series coming out on DVD or Blu ray either. Still, it was a great turn out and it was a thrill to see so many people who I didn’t know at all excited about this TV series that we know and love.

So heres’ the pics. Enjoy and be sure to click on the images for the full size.

...
Barris brought his RTTBC Batmobile.

...
A bit of the display and spread. No, the standups were not for sale.

...

...

...
A Batusi figure in it’s proposed package.

...
Some of the figures due this summer from Mattel

The Batmobile designed for the 6inch figures

...

...

...
Apparently a comic is due out as well.

...
Greeting cards

...

...

...

...
I seriously can’t wait to get this calendar!

...

...

...
Supposedly coming out this fall. I guess it’s an elite with figures.

...

...
Gift bag, gift tags and stickers.

...

...

...

...

...
And here comes some of the Rubies costumes

...
Are screen accurate? No, but they are the coolest Halloween grade costumes I’ve ever seen come down the pipe for the mainstream

...

...

...
Odd choice to put a lion on the belt buckle.

...
I don’t think this is a Rubies produced necklace. It looks more like a well made fan one.

...

...

...

...

...
The DJ plays but regrettfully it wasn’t Bat-tunes.

...
In a side room they had the walls covered with a huge wallpaper of the Batcave.

...
No. The wallpaper is NOT a product coming out.

...
A Robin costume (albeit not a screen worn one for the show) on loan from the James Comisar collection.

...
Bat-cupcakes!

...
Defenitely a Bat-party atmosphere. You can get a good idea of why it was so difficult to get better pictures for some of the merch it was so dark in there.

...

...
Fred and Adam arrived and the eye of the hurricane centered around Adam immediately.

...
Adam looked great and seemed to having a great time. We briefly shook hands as he told me, “You’re in disguise tonight.”

...

...
And George Barris doing what he loves to do.. taking pictures!

...

...
My buddy Ralph Garman was there and it was great hang to geek out together over the toys and stuff that we’ve been wanting to see since we were little kids to finally be available.
